The original was prized for sounding larger than its size suggested, and for a filter that could be pushed into screaming, self-oscillating territory. As with Roland's wider plugin range, the recreation is built with Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) circuit modeling and extended with expanded parameters, an advanced arpeggiator, and onboard effects that the hardware did not have. All original factory patches are included alongside newly designed sounds for contemporary production. Titles run as VST3, AU, and AAX on macOS and Windows with native Apple Silicon support, and the plugin supports PLUG-OUT compatibility for use with compatible Roland hardware synthesizers.
