ZENOLOGY PRO is an expandable software synthesizer plugin developed by Roland and powered by their flagship ZEN-Core Synthesis System. Designed to bridge classic heritage with modern sound design flexibility, it serves as a central universe for Roland synth engine technology. It is widely used across Afrobeats, pop, hip-hop, synthwave, electronic, R&B, cinematic scoring, and gospel to deliver crisp digital keys, iconic analog pads, soaring leads, punchy synth basses, and detailed acoustic/electronic drum kits.

The synth architecture is built on a 4-partial structure, where each partial operates as an independent sound layer containing an oscillator, filter, amplifier, dual LFOs, and dedicated equalizer. Oscillators can blend over 1,800 PCM waveforms (expandable to 7,000+) with virtual analog synthesis (including 9 standard waveforms, Supersaw, and Noise). Key features include 10 modeled filter types (featuring JUPITER and iconic vintage circuits), step LFOs with 37 curves per step, dedicated drum editing with 6 compressors, over 90 vintage-modeled Roland FX (JUNO-106 chorus, SDD-320 Dimension D, tape echo), and support for Model Expansions (recreating synths like the JUPITER-8, JUNO-106, SH-101, and JX-8P). Sounds can also be seamlessly transferred to compatible ZEN-Core hardware (FANTOM, JUPITER-X). ZENOLOGY PRO operates in 64-bit VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows (10/11) and macOS (with native Apple Silicon and Intel support).
