About XV-5080
XV-5080 is described as a universe of sound, and it is the software reproduction of a classic PCM digital synthesizer using Digital Circuit Behavior (DCB) to deliver detailed, accurate vintage sound. The original XV-5080 was one of Roland's flagship sample-based synthesis modules, and the software version preserves its architecture: sample-based synthesis with 124-voice polyphony, 128 voices maximum polyphony per the published specifications, and 1,083 waves in the standard set. Effects comprise 78 multi-effects, 3 chorus types, and 5 reverb types, with 128 memories per bank, and the user can make new user banks.
Its value is stated plainly: with its enormous selection of built-in effects and more than 900 carefully created presets, producing with the XV-5080 plug-in is even faster and smoother than with the original hardware version, regardless of the music genre or style. It carries 912 instruments and 78 multi-FX processors and supports sampling frequencies of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz, and 192 kHz. Plug-in formats are VST 3.7, AU, and AAX, requiring macOS 11 or higher with a VST 3.7 compatible host for the VST version and V2 Audio Units compatible for AU, with an Intel Core i5 or better or Apple M1 chip, 2 GB or greater RAM, and 700 MB or greater hard disk. It is available through Roland Cloud, and as a lifetime key. It suits pop, R&B, hip hop, house, and film score production, and is especially valuable for producers pursuing authentic late-1990s and 2000s textures.
