Xpand!2 Expansion: Multivation Bundle is a preset expansion bundle for AIR Music Technology's Xpand!2, and the host's history explains why it supports expansion well: Air Music Technology originally created Xpand! as part of the Creative Collection of instrument plug-ins included as part of Avid Pro Tools. With the release of Pro Tools 8, this widely popular workstation was given new controls, improved features, an additional gigabyte of sounds, and a new name: Xpand!2 — so the instrument was built as a broad, sample-based workstation from the outset, and expansions extend its preset library rather than its engine. Xpand!2's architecture is documented: using everything from wavetables and FM synthesis to sample playback, the expert sound design team at Air Music Tech has carefully created thousands of ready-to-play Xpand!2 patches. Creating your own is easy, too. Its multitimbral design is the unusual part: Xpand!2 is a multitimbral workstation offering four active sound slots, or parts, per patch. Each part is provided with its own MIDI channel, Note Range (Zone), Mix, Arpeggiation, Modulation, and Effects settings — described as an excellent method for creating individual parts — with up to four stereo instrument parts per patch, up to 64 voices per part in Mono or Poly voice modes, Smart Knobs providing intuitive sound editing, Easy Edit Knobs controlling the entire patch at once, two digital effects processors with 50 editable effect types, and individual arpeggiation control for each part. VIP 1.1 compatibility is documented. As an AIR Music Technology product it requires registration with the manufacturer plus an internet connection to authorise, and AIR's Expansions range follows a documented pattern where each expansion lists a "Requires:" field naming its parent product — for example Urban Heat, which unlocks the potential of Fabric XL, and Fresh Air Pack Vol 1 for Vacuum Pro — so the bundle's compatibility should be confirmed against the parent instrument and version on the product page. It suits pop, electronic, hip hop, film, and television production, and is a cost-effective way to broaden a workstation's palette. Confirm the exact preset count and content of the bundle on the product page, since bundles are revised. #Xpand2 #Xpand #AIRMusicTechnology #MultivationBundle #ExpansionPack #Presets #Workstation #Multitimbral #SmartKnobs #Arpeggiator #Wavetables #FMSynthesis #SVIP #MPC #FilmScore #Television #Pop #Electronic #HipHop #MusicProduction #VST #VST2 #VST3 #AU #AAX #Standalone #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
