XO Expansion: IDM is described with a single line that sets its character: glitched-out grooves where acoustic drums, vintage machines, and digital mutations collide. That description maps onto the genre precisely — IDM production depends on the collision between recognisably acoustic hits and heavily processed digital artefacts, and the expansion is built to supply exactly that layering. Its contents are specified: 75 presets, fully editable in XO, 231 samples, and infinite variations powered by the XO engine. This product requires XO — the host instrument is described as explore your drum universe, providing XO Plugin/Standalone (VST, AU, AAX) and XO Core Content (8700+ one-shot samples, 240+ beat presets), with XO's intuitive interface encouraging experimentation and creative "happy accidents", and XO's inspiring Presets Playlists and 8000+ hand-picked factory samples giving a flying start as a beat maker. The expansion was released alongside the Dubstep expansion as part of a genre series, and belongs to a catalogue of 31 to 33 expansions depending on bundle tier, with XO Complete including all of them. It is sold at $39.00 before discount. Requirements follow XO: formats VST, AU, AAX (64-bit) and a standalone application on Windows and macOS, with macOS 10.13 or later (64-bit) or Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), plus an internet connection during installation. It suits IDM, experimental electronic, glitch, and leftfield club production, and is equally useful for sound design and texture work outside those genres. #XOExpansionIDM #XO #XLNAudio #IDM #Glitch #ExperimentalElectronic #ExpansionPack #Samples #Presets #DrumMachine #Beatmaking #SoundDesign #Leftfield #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #VST #AU #AAX #Standalone #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase #AppleSilicon
