Virtual Pianist RELIC is the imperfect upright, and RELIC is a modern take on the classic upright. Its source is documented: a meticulously captured upright piano, presented as a "perfectly imperfect" piano with realistic sound and emotive tone, which is to say the library preserves the tuning drift, mechanical noise, and uneven response of a real domestic upright rather than presenting a sanitised instrument. That character is why UJAM positions it as inspired by iconic music eras marked by John Lennon's "Imagine" and Rihanna's "Stay" — both recordings built on an upright rather than a grand.

Its contents and capability are documented: Relic also opens up five distinct piano characters for users to experiment with, along with 150 presets for those who want to get quickly to music making, plus Finisher and Ambience multi-effects for extra sound control. The series capability applies: zero piano skills required, with the built-in pianist functionality able to play accompaniments from a single note, intuitive real-time control, and a chord display that shows the detected chord directly above the C4-C5 octave of the Realtime Note Display. It supports a wide range of sounds and musical styles, from electric piano to grand piano, from pop and rock to soul and RnB, from film scores to ambient tracks, and across the series the piano, recording technology, playing techniques, styles, phrases, and effects are individually optimized for every pianist. Requirements are Windows 10–11 and macOS Monterey 12 through macOS Tahoe 26, supported on Intel and Apple silicon Macs (Rosetta and native), with 5.68 GB of disk space, a 1280x768 display, an internet connection, and 8 GB minimum RAM. Formats are VST 2, VST 3, AU 2, and AAX — all 64-bit only. Virtual Pianist requires the latest version of the UJAM App. It suits pop, rock, soul, R&B, film score, and ambient production.
