UNFILTER is Waves' corrective processor, built to remove the effects of filtering that has already been applied to a source — resonances, comb filtering, and the tonal coloration left by room acoustics, poor mic placement, or heavy processing earlier in the chain. The idea is unusually direct: rather than adding more treatment on top, it identifies and reduces the artefacts themselves, which can restore clarity on material that seems irreparably coloured. That makes it valuable on problematic recordings — a vocal tracked in an untreated room, a guitar part already EQ'd by someone else, or a sample that arrived pre-processed — where conventional EQ cannot fix the issue because the problem is not a simple frequency imbalance. It suits mixing, mastering, and post-production, and is often used as an early corrective step before creative processing begins. It runs in VST3, AU, and AAX formats on macOS and Windows, supports Intel and Apple Silicon CPUs, and is compatible with major DAWs including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, Studio One, FL Studio, and Reaper. #UNFILTER #Waves #ResonanceSuppression #CorrectiveEQ #RoomCorrection #CombFiltering #AudioRestoration #Mixing #Mastering #PostProduction #MusicProduction #MixingPlugin #VST3 #AU #AAX #ProTools #LogicPro #AbletonLive #Cubase #StudioOne #FLStudio
