Trident Mk III is a multitimbral analog-modeling synthesizer plugin developed by Cherry Audio. Emulating and extending the iconic 1981 Korg Trident Mk I and 1982 Mk II hardware synths, the plugin recreates three dedicated, simultaneous sound generation sections—Synthesizer, Brass, and Strings—to deliver sweeping synth-pop leads, warm vintage pads, lush orchestral string ensembles, and rich hybrid brass textures. It is widely used across synthwave, pop, cinematic scoring, prog rock, and ambient music production.

The software elevates the original 8-voice hardware design to 16 polyphonic voices per section with support for velocity sensitivity and polyphonic aftertouch. It features drag-and-drop key zoning for quick splits and layers, a 16x2 polyphonic step sequencer, dual assignable arpeggiators, and four customizable effects chains hosting 17 studio-grade FX modules (including BBD flanger, Lushverb, phasers, and EQs). Trident Mk III operates as a paid virtual instrument in 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats (as well as a Standalone application) for Windows (7/8/10/11) and macOS (10.13+ with native Apple Silicon and Intel support).
