The Teletronix LA-2A Leveler Collection gathers Universal Audio's official emulations of the classic optical tube compressor into one package. The collection covers multiple hardware variants, with the UAD Native versions named LA-2 Compressor, LA-2 Gray Compressor, and LA-2A Silver Compressor, while the UAD-2 DSP titles are Teletronix LA-2, Teletronix LA-2 Gray, Teletronix LA-2A Legacy, and Teletronix LA-2A Silver. Each variant carries its own tonal signature, letting you choose between the warmer, smoother originals and the brighter Silver revision. The LA-2A's reputation rests on its program-dependent optical compression, which levels vocals, bass, and full mixes in a way that feels musical rather than clinical. It remains one of the most-used compressors in professional studios. The Collection runs natively on Mac or Windows without UA hardware, and can also be accelerated on Apollo interfaces or UAD-2 hardware. It is delivered in VST3, AU, and AAX formats and is managed through the free UA Connect application. #Teletronix #LA2A #TeletronixLA2A #OpticalCompressor #TubeCompressor #Compressor #UniversalAudio #UAD #UADNative #Mixing #VocalCompression #AnalogModeling #VST3 #AU #AAX #ProTools #LogicPro #AbletonLive #Cubase #StudioOne
