Arturia Tape J-37 is a detailed recreation of the Studer J37 tape machine, using neural-based modeling to reproduce its tube-driven circuitry, tape behavior, and non-linear characteristics. It provides four distinct tape color profiles based on different tape formulations, ages, and calibration settings, ranging from clean and controlled to heavily saturated and gritty. The plugin also includes Modern Mode, which retains the tape character while bypassing the original machine's inherent EQ curve for a brighter, more transparent result.

Tape J-37 features Drive, two tape speeds, three-band EQ, tape noise, instability, stereo offset, and a tempo-synchronized delay, along with a VU meter that monitors input level and THD. The advanced controls can introduce pitch drift, modulation, tape hiss, slapback-style delay, and other tape-based imperfections, while the Play/Stop control can create tape-stop effects. It includes 25 factory presets and supports VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and NKS on Windows and macOS, making it suitable for vocals, drums, bass, guitars, synths, buses, and master processing.
