About TAL-U-NO-LX Synth
TAL-U-NO-LX is TAL Software's emulation of the Roland Juno-60 — the six-voice analog polysynth whose single DCO per voice, famously lush chorus, and simple but effective control panel made it a defining sound of 1980s pop, new wave, and film music, and a continuing staple of synthwave, indie, and electronic production. The Juno's character is inseparable from its onboard chorus circuit, a dual-mode bucket-brigade delay that widens and warms the single oscillator into something much larger than its specification suggests.
TAL's approach is documented as component-level modelling of the original hardware, with the instrument reproducing the DCO waveform selection, the resonant low-pass filter's characteristic self-oscillation, the high-pass filter, the ADSR envelope, and crucially the Juno chorus in both modes. TAL's version extends the original in ways its users expect: a full resonant filter with extended range, an additional unison and voice-dispersion option for thicker sounds, a built-in arpeggiator and step sequencer, expanded LFO options and an extra envelope, and onboard effects including overdrive, delay, and reverb, plus a preset browser organised by category. It suits synthwave, synth pop, new wave, indie, and cinematic production. TAL instruments run as standalone applications and as plugins in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats on macOS and Windows, with 64-bit support and Apple Silicon compatibility on current builds. Confirm the exact firmware version and feature set on the developer's product page, since TAL has revised the instrument over its long life.
