SynthMaster 3 Upgrade from SynthMaster One is the discounted route for owners of KV331 Audio's smaller wavetable synthesizer to the flagship instrument. It is the companion to the Upgrade from SynthMaster 2 path already in your catalogue, and the distinction is worth stating: SynthMaster One owners upgrade from a streamlined wavetable synth, while SynthMaster 2 owners upgrade from a broader multi-synthesis instrument, so the two tiers are priced differently despite reaching the same destination.

The version 3 additions justify the move. Synthesis coverage now spans VAnalog, Additive, Vector, Wavetable, Granular, Phase Modulation, Phase Distortion, Frequency Modulation, Pulse Width Modulation, Ring Modulation, Physical Modeling, and SFZ Sample Playback, built from generator modules: Basic Oscillator, Additive Oscillator, Vector Oscillator, Wavetable Oscillator, VAnalog Oscillator, Granular Oscillator, and Modulator, with up to 16 layers per instance and up to 16 modules per layer. The comprehensive Wavetable Editor creates wavetables using single cycle waveforms or sample/wavetable files, with 7 types of wavetable effects available to further sculpt the wavetable: Spectral Filter, Waveshaper, Modulator, Bender, Shifter, LoFi, and Sync. A significant advantage for One owners is documented compatibility: SynthMaster 3 is backwards compatible with SynthMaster One and SynthMaster 2. If those products are installed and authorized on the user's system, SynthMaster 3 shows the presets for those products, and can load those presets as entire presets or into layers — so a One library is not abandoned but absorbed. Expansion arithmetic is also relevant: currently there are 14 expansion banks for SynthMaster One, 38 expansion banks for SynthMaster 2, and 8 expansion packs for SynthMaster 3, where SynthMaster 3 expansion packs can be used only on SynthMaster 3 and SynthMaster 3 Player but not on SynthMaster 2.
