SYMPHONIC: Bodega Strings is one of the individual instruments within the KLANG SYMPHONIC branch of the KLANG series, described as a series of virtual instruments made by a Cologne-based team of musicians, composers, and sound designers, whose instruments cover a wide range of approaches, including previously unpublished instruments, unusual sound experiments, and random products while trying to emerge new sounds. The SYMPHONIC branch works with orchestral sources, and the framing is worth distinguishing for buyers, because it separates these instruments from conventional orchestral libraries: KLANG's stated approach is unusual sound experiments rather than faithful orchestral reproduction, so SYMPHONIC instruments take string material and treat, reshape, or misuse it. The title's "Bodega" element carries its own implication — the Spanish and Latin American word for a storeroom or corner shop, and in the prepared-instrument tradition of Bart Hopkin or Diego Stocco, a bodega naming suggests strings recorded in or filtered through an unglamorous, domestic, and specifically non-concert context — which is precisely the kind of source the branch favours. Documented siblings confirm the approach: SYMPHONIC: Raising Strings, SYMPHONIC: Skyline Strings, and SYMPHONIC: Gambastard, where the last names a viola da gamba on its own terms. Each is listed at $6.00, with the branch starting from $6.00 at Plugin Boutique. The series' practical details are consistent: KLANG instruments require the Kontakt full version, with Kontakt full version 5.6.8 or higher documented for the series, and titles priced around $6 each, alongside KLANG Free Instruments at $0.00. The developer is Cinematique Instruments. Libraries in this series are standard open-format Kontakt libraries, so a full Kontakt licence is required and the free Kontakt Player does not support them. It suits film, television, and game scoring, contemporary classical production, and sound design, and is most useful for composers who want string material as a texture or a starting point rather than as a conventional ensemble — a distinction worth stating explicitly, since a buyer expecting a standard string library would be surprised.
