SSL Native X-ValveComp is a channel compressor plugin developed by Solid State Logic that marries traditional SSL console dynamics with analog valve character. Designed to process everything from vocals, drums, and bass to full mix buses, the plugin allows producers to achieve punchy, controlled dynamic shaping while adding harmonic saturation.

The plugin features classic compression parameters, including Threshold, Ratio, Knee, Attack, Release, and Hold controls, and can switch between Peak and RMS detection modes. The valve emulation stage operates after the compressor circuit to inject primarily 2nd-order harmonic saturation, bringing extra body and warmth to digital tracks. Additional utility features include a sidechain input with high-pass and low-pass filters, a dedicated wet/dry Mix control for parallel compression, Auto Gain Make Up, and A/B preset comparison. SSL Native X-ValveComp is a paid plugin (available as a perpetual license or via SSL subscriptions) requiring an iLok account for activation.
