Cableguys Snapback is a drum layering and transient enhancement plugin developed with electronic music producer BT. Its transient detection engine automatically identifies incoming drum hits and triggers two independent sample layers: a Snapback layer that plays immediately before the hit like a short riser or whip, and a Transient layer that reinforces the attack, body, or texture of the original sound. This allows drum layers to be added without manually editing or aligning individual samples.

Snapback includes 200+ mix-ready transient and snapback samples from producers including BT, Goldbaby, Virtual Riot, and Cyclick, while custom samples can also be imported into either layer. Each layer provides Attack, Decay, Pitch, Width, and Filter controls, with waveform visualization for precise alignment and shaping. The plugin also includes a Reverse function for creative sample manipulation and supports both audio and MIDI triggering. It runs on Windows and macOS in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
