About Skaka

Skaka is a sample-based sequencer plugin for shaker percussion instruments whose stated goal is to create shaker patterns as played by a human being. Shakers are a small detail that is disproportionately hard to program convincingly — a static programmed shaker reads as artificial — so the instrument's entire design is aimed at that problem. It has 12 slots, each with its own instrument, parameters, and pattern, so a full percussion layer can be constructed and shaped slot by slot. The library is deep in the way that matters for realism: 18 different shaker instruments including Egg, Shaker, Tambourine, Caxixi, Single Shot, Ghungroos, Calabash & Seeds, and much more, each sampled with 8 (or 9) velocity layers and more than 30 round-robins per layer — thousands of samples used — plus a high-quality reverb and room simulation. Control extends to high-precision editing of each pattern, with a plethora of controls for getting the exact right timing, pitch, and velocity, an advanced and customizable humanizer, and a wide range of presets covering most genres and styles. The v1.2 update added 6 new instruments (Pepper Puck, Tin Box, Nut Shells, Pocket Tamb, Match Box, Paper Roll), double/half time in relation to DAW tempo, and a resizable UI. Requirements are macOS 10.10 or later (optimized for the M1 processor) or Windows 7 (SP1) or later, running in an AU, VST, VST3, or AAX compatible 64-bit host. An iPad AUv3 version is also available. #Skaka #Klevgrand #Shakers #Percussion #DrumMachine #Sequencer #Humanizer #RoundRobin #SampleBased #SoundDesign #WorldMusic #Pop #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #AU #VST #VST3 #AAX #AUv3 #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro
