Session Horns is the standard edition of Native Instruments' horn section library — the entry point to a range that extends to Session Horns Pro. Its defining convenience is that you play a line and the section voices it in harmony automatically, which removes the arrangement work that normally precedes a horn part; the Pro edition then adds individual instrument control for producers who want to write each player's part out. The instrument covers the core section lineup of trumpet, tenor saxophone, and trombone, with the usual articulation set for horn writing: sustains, stabs, swells, falls, doits, shakes, and rips, plus pattern libraries of idiomatic riffs in funk, soul, R&B, ska, reggae, pop, and jazz styles. The genre coverage reflects where recorded horn sections actually appear in contemporary production — funk, soul, R&B, and hip hop above all, with pop, ska, and reggae close behind. The realistic behaviour of a section depends on the players reacting to each other, so recorded ensemble performances underpin the library, with individual instruments layered over them. It suits producers needing a horn arrangement without booking players, and works both as a rhythm-section horn bed and a featured line. It is a KOMPLETE Instrument requiring the free KONTAKT PLAYER or full KONTAKT, running on macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone formats with NKS support, taking full advantage of KOMPLETE KONTROL hardware and the NKS standard. Confirm the instrument roster and library size on the product page, since the standard and Pro editions differ. #SessionHorns #NativeInstruments #HornSection #Brass #Trumpet #TenorSaxophone #Trombone #Funk #Soul #RandB #Ska #Reggae #Pop #Jazz #HipHop #KOMPLETE #Kontakt #NKS #MusicProduction #VST #VST3 #AU #AAX #Standalone #LogicPro #Cubase
