Waves Renaissance DeEsser is a specialized dynamic processor for controlling sibilance and excessive high-frequency energy in vocals, voiceovers, podcasts, and other sources. Its phase-compensated crossover minimizes coloration and phase artifacts, while precision filtering focuses processing on the frequencies responsible for unwanted “S,” “Sh,” and similar sounds. The plugin provides wideband and split-band processing modes, allowing either focused sibilance reduction or smoother control across a broader frequency range.

Renaissance DeEsser includes real-time visual feedback, frequency and range controls, and sidechain monitoring for accurately identifying and reducing problematic frequencies. Its processing can also be used beyond vocals to control harshness from guitar amplifiers, distortion, and even full mixes.
