Quijada de Burro is a percussion sample library built around the quijada de burro — a donkey jawbone played by striking and scraping, an instrument from Latin American and specifically Mexican folk traditions. The technique and its effect are documented by the library's publisher: played by striking and scraping the donkey jawbone, the Quijada produces a crisp, rattling rhythm with dry, organic tones and subtle overtones, adding movement, texture, and natural groove to any track. The material's behaviour is what makes it distinctive: the loose teeth in the jawbone rattle against the bone when struck, producing a rasping, multi-layered percussive sound that no shaker or woodblock reproduces. Its contents are documented in detail: 720 Quijada de Burro percussion loops, totalling 1.14 GB at 24-Bit / 44.1kHz WAV, live played by top musicians, multitrack recorded, and tempo labelled, across a BPM range of 80 to 140, from the Pro Percussion Multitrack Loop Series published by Image Sounds. The multitrack recording matters practically: it lets a producer balance or replace individual elements of a performance rather than accepting a mixed loop. Two notes belong in the catalogue: all instruments except the Quijada de Burro percussion loops are for demonstration purposes only and are not included in the library, and the material is 100% royalty-free. It suits Latin, Mexican folk, world music, film and television scoring, and any production needing organic percussive texture, and it is available as a ZIP download at $26.95. The instrument also appears as a category within larger world libraries — Sounds Of The Earth VIDA includes Quijada de Burro: SN, Lo, FX among its percussion roster. #QuijadaDeBurro #ImageSounds #Percussion #LatinPercussion #MexicanFolk #WorldMusic #PercussionLoops #Multitrack #LivePlayed #TempoLabelled #WAV #RoyaltyFree #FilmScore #Television #SoundDesign #MusicProduction #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase #StudioOne #Reaper
