PX SunBox is a virtual instrument by UVI inspired by the German-made JoMoX SunSyn, an unusually complex 8-voice analog/digital hybrid synthesizer released in 1999. UVI sampled and restored the character of the original hardware to create 420 sound layers from 30,660 authentic samples, covering basses, bells, brass, FX, keys, leads, organs, pads, plucks, strings, sweeps, voices, and more. The result is a versatile instrument capable of producing both massive evolving polysynths and aggressive, heavily modulated mono sounds.

The instrument features a dual-layer architecture with editable ADSR envelopes, multimode filters, polyphonic or monophonic operation with glide, pitch shifting, stereo controls, LFO and step modulation, two arpeggiators, and a selection of effects including EQ, drive, ensemble, phaser, delay, and Sparkverb. PX SunBox includes 452 presets and runs through UVI Workstation or Falcon in Audio Unit, VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats on Windows 10–11 and macOS 10.14–26, with 5 GB of required disk space.
