About Poiesis Cello

Poiesis Cello is described as a beautifully unconventional cello instrument, and brimming with rich timbral shifts, delicate shadings, octave harmonics, bow bounces, and reiterations, Poiesis Cello adds instant cinema with dynamic textures that range from tender and reflective to nervily unsettling. An independent review characterises it precisely and is worth carrying for that reason: Poiesis Cello stands between the acoustic world and the ambience textural world. It's not just a mere acoustic instrument but it's not either a completely sound design focused library. The core of the library features a two layers engine where you can crossfade between two articulations or textures yet keeping the real instrument's sound as the main character. That description identifies the product's actual position: the cello remains the voice, and the textural layer is a partner rather than a replacement — which is what separates it from both a pure solo cello library and a pure sound-design instrument. Its version 2 changes are documented and should shape the catalogue entry, since they reorganise the product. This version also includes close to 100 new presets providing a great starting point for shaping your own unique sound, and Poiesis Cello 2 is now organised as two different instruments: Poiesis Cello 2 XY Pad, described as the instrument hosted in the Aria Engine which you may already be familiar with from Panorama Guitars and Aria Vocalscapes, and Poiesis Cello Articulation Keyswitch, described as a brand new system that allows you to organise single articulations in a completely customisable switching system: you can use traditional key switching or have velocity dictate the articulation being triggered. The articulation keyswitch instrument is a genuine addition, because it lets a producer select articulations by playing rather than by pressing a keyswitch — which is what makes the library playable as a conventional solo instrument rather than only as a textural tool. A review of the two-layer engine notes that two layers and a mod wheel, or other MIDI CCs, can be used to change the X/Y parameters of the control pad. Its requirement is documented and has changed with the version: Poiesis Cello V2 now requires the free Kontakt Player 7.7+ as a minimum — so no full Kontakt licence is needed. System requirements are a download size of 5.2 GB, Windows 10 or 11 (latest Service Pack), or macOS 13, 14 and 15 (latest update), with the note that as of Kontakt 8.8, macOS 13 is no longer supported and future updates may prevent installation below macOS 14, and an internet connection required to download, install, and activate. Formats are standalone, VST3, AU, and AAX on macOS, and standalone, VST3, and AAX on Windows, with NKS support and compatibility with KOMPLETE KONTROL keyboards, MASCHINE hardware, and third-party controllers. Its developer is documented: based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sonora Cinematic is the home of sample libraries and instruments envisioned and created by composer and sound designer Alessandro Mastroianni. It suits film, television, and game scoring, contemporary classical composition, and sound design, and the instrument's identity — a real cello that can be crossfaded into texture without losing its voice — is what a buyer is selecting it for. #PoiesisCello #SonoraCinematic #Cello #SoloCello #TwoLayerEngine #XYPad #ArticulationKeyswitch #AriaEngine #Kontakt #KontaktPlayer #NKS #KompleteKontrol #Maschine #TimbralShifts #OctaveHarmonics #BowBounces #FilmScore #Television #GameAudio #ContemporaryClassical #SoundDesign #MusicProduction #VST3 #AU #AAX #Standalone #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
