Opacity 2: Soundbox Instrument is described by Audiomodern as Boutique Cinematic Guitars and introduced as the second volume of our Opacity series. A premium guitar library featuring a collection of mix-and-match professional six-string performances. The series' approach is worth stating for the catalogue: "mix-and-match" here means the library is built from individual guitar performances that can be combined, rather than from a fixed set of finished patches — which suits the Soundbox engine, where the user can rebuild a preset from its components.

Its contents are documented: a 2.1 GB size, fully unlocked presets, and the note that Opacity 2 comes with our proprietary Soundbox format, which can be easily imported to any device running Soundbox on Desktop and/or iPad — so a purchase travels between a studio machine and an iPad. The host is documented: Soundbox is our new MPE compatible sampler, crafted to introduce cutting-edge virtual instruments with enhanced power and capability. It comes with a plethora of features and is entirely customizable allowing you to create your own bespoke virtual instruments from scratch. The series predecessor is documented at 1.5 GB and requires Soundbox 1.1.0+ to run, priced at €39, with an Opacity Bundle collecting Opacity and Opacity 2 at €58, a €20 saving. Platform support for Soundbox is plugin formats: VST3, AU, AAX, and Standalone for Windows and macOS, and AUv3 and Standalone for iPadOS, on Mac OS 10.14 and up (including native Apple Silicon M1/M2 compatibility) and PC Windows 10 and newer, supporting all major DAWs, including Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Bitwig, Reaper, and Reason. It requires Soundbox to run. It suits film, television, and game scoring, and cinematic production, and the mix-and-match construction makes it useful for building bespoke guitar textures rather than loading finished patches.
