Obscurium is Sugar Bytes' generative synthesizer, built around the idea that a synth's modulation system can itself become the instrument. Rather than requiring you to play notes, it uses generative sequencers and modulation sources to produce moving, evolving material — drones, evolving pads, rhythmic textures, and melodic patterns that shift on their own. That makes it a tool for producing sound that develops over time without being replayed, which suits ambient, cinematic, and experimental electronic music.

Its design is oriented toward sound design and texture generation as much as conventional synthesis, so it works well layered under other elements or used as the source for further processing. It exports MIDI as well as generating audio, making it useful as an idea generator for other instruments. It runs as a plugin on macOS and Windows in VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone formats, is 64-bit only, and is compatible with major DAWs including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, and Reaper.
