Notes is an advanced chord generation and virtual instrument plugin developed by Future Audio Workshop (FAW). Designed to accelerate songwriting and eliminate music theory roadblocks, the plugin allows producers to play full, highly expressive chord progressions using single white keys while using black transformer keys to dynamically trigger strums, arpeggios, reverses, and rhythm variations in real time. It is widely used across hip-hop, R&B, pop, lo-fi, house, and cinematic scoring for rapid melody and harmony creation.

The engine combines an interactive Chord Sampler—which can auto-detect and map chord progressions directly from dropped audio or MIDI loops—with a dual-layer synth and sample engine. It includes multi-sampled analog synths, acoustic keys, guitar textures, an analog-style synth engine, and built-in master FX (including OTT compression, shimmer reverbs, and grain delays). Notes operates as a paid virtual instrument in 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows (10/11) and macOS (with native Apple Silicon and Intel support).
