NOIRE replicates a unique Yamaha CFX grand piano belonging to the composer and pianist Nils Frahm, who personally handpicked the instrument in the Yamaha German headquarters in Hamburg. It offers pure and felt preparation versions of the 9' concert grand piano: NOIRE Pure is described as a musical allrounder with a lively, deep, and emotional sound character that works for every genre, from classical music and jazz, through to pop and music scoring, while NOIRE Felt is the muted version with felt between strings and hammers, producing the intimate, softened tone associated with prepared felt recording. Two features extend it well beyond a straight sampling. A separate control over resonance and overtone samples widens the palette, and the attack parameter for the basic NOIRE tones can help to create pad-like soundscapes, turning the piano into a sustained texture source. The innovative Particles Engine is a complex note generating algorithm incorporating various degrees of tonal shifting, which triggers different source samples based on the notes played on the keyboard — an unusual mechanism that generates additional material in response to performance. It is a KOMPLETE Instrument comprising 2 NKIs (Noire Pure and Noire Felt) and requires the free KONTAKT PLAYER or KONTAKT version 7.6 or higher. It runs on Windows 10 (64-bit) or higher and macOS 12 or higher on Intel Core or Apple Silicon, with 4 GB RAM minimum, in Stand-alone, AAX, AU, and VST3 formats, with NKS support and two simultaneous activations. #Noire #NativeInstruments #NilsFrahm #GrandPiano #PianoPlugin #YamahaCFX #FeltPiano #ParticlesEngine #KOMPLETE #Kontakt #VirtualPiano #Cinematic #Classical #FilmScore #MusicProduction #VST3 #AU #AAX #Standalone #NKS #LogicPro #Cubase
