Motion: Fractal is a creative granular multi-effect software plugin developed by Excite Audio. Purpose-built for transforming static audio into evolving textures, glitchy rhythms, and shimmering ambient soundscapes, it combines dual granular engines with rhythmic gating and stutter capabilities. It is widely used across cinematic scoring, ambient, techno, drum & bass, Afrobeats, glitch, and experimental electronic music production.

At the heart of the plugin is a Hexagonal Macro & Path Controller, an intuitive evolution of the traditional XY pad featuring a 3D reactive visualizer, drawn/recorded motion paths, and magnetic cursor interaction (attract/repel modes) to morph up to 6 parameters simultaneously. The processing engine consists of 5 modular FX sections that can be freely re-ordered: Dual Granular Engines (Grains 1 & 2 with 5 playhead modes, density, pitch-spread, and chaos controls), a 32-Step Trance Gate, a Stutter-Repeat Engine (for micro-loops and glitch fills), and Space (a lush hall reverb).
