ML4000 Mastering Limiter Native v7 is the host-powered native software edition of the flagship mastering dynamics processor developed by McDSP. Engineered to run directly on standard computer CPU power without requiring dedicated DSP accelerator hardware (such as Pro Tools HDX), it delivers identical high-resolution peak limiting, multiband dynamics control, and transparent loudness maximization. It is widely used across Afrobeats, hip-hop, pop, rock, EDM, and cinematic scoring for polishing mix buses, controlling low-end energy, and achieving competitive commercial volume levels without distortion.

The Native v7 package includes two distinct plugins: the standalone ML1 Master Limiter and the ML4 Multiband Dynamics Processor (which feeds a 4-band Gate, Upward/Downward Expander, and Compressor directly into the ML1 brickwall limiter). The ML1 utilizes a look-ahead brickwall design with multi-stage peak detection, variable knee response, and selectable Character Modes (Clean, Soft, Smart, Dynamic, Master, Loud). The ML4 section provides steep 24 dB/octave crossovers, band-linking capabilities, and an integrated Real-Time Analyzer (RTA).
