Memory V is Arturia's recreation of the Memorymoog — the six-voice analog polysynth that represented Moog's most ambitious polyphonic design. Each voice carries three oscillators, which is why the instrument is prized for enormous, thick polyphonic sounds that single-oscillator-per-voice polysynths cannot approach: massive unison stacks, huge pads, and dense brass are its signature territory. It is one of the heaviest-sounding polysynths ever built, and the recreation targets that scale. The instrument was rebuilt using Arturia's modelling technology, which the company describes as the exclusive analog modeling technology that makes our emulations indistinguishable from the originals, working by accurately mimicking the characteristics of analog oscillators, filters, and soft clipping.
