Melodic Tech for Serum is a preset collection for Xfer Records' Serum aimed at melodic techno and its close relative melodic house — a register worth describing precisely, because the label "melodic techno" covers a wide range and a buyer benefits from knowing which end a pack occupies. The territory in question runs from the Berlin and Afterlife lineage — Tale of Us, Recondite, Stephan Bodzin, and Adriatique — through the Anjuna-adjacent melodic house school of Ben Böhmer, Yotto, Lane 8, Nils Hoffmann, and Nora En Pure; the documented comparators place themselves in exactly that frame: Production Music Live's Serum Preset Pack – Melodic House is described as presets in the underground style of labels like Anjuna and artists like Ben Böhmer, Yotto, Lane 8, Nils Hoffmann, and Nora En Pure, and its Serum Modern Melodic Techno Presets are documented as a melodic techno sound pack for Serum with presets and MIDIs in the style of artists like Olivier Giacomotto, Final Request, Fur Coat, and Jos & Eli. What the genre requires follows from that lineage: long, evolving pads carrying the chords; a small number of highly distinctive lead patches; rolling filtered basses rather than aggressive ones; plucked and arpeggiated material for the melodic motion; and deep sub content that sits under rather than in front. The category breakdowns comparators publish show how such packs are built: Production Music Live's melodic techno pack contains 100 Presets for Serum — 08 Arps, 18 Basses, 04 Chords, 12 Drums, 27 Leads, 17 Pads, 15 Plucks — plus 100 MIDI Files, one for each preset to get you started, with a requirement of Xfer Serum v1.363 or higher, working with Serum 2; their melodic house pack by Furcloud offers 70+ Presets for Serum — 18 Bass Sounds, 17 Arp/Pluck Sounds, 19 Lead Presets, 12 Pads Presets, 04 Effects Presets — note that leads dominate both breakdowns, which reflects the genre's dependence on a handful of memorable lead sounds per track. Serum suits this register well because its wavetables and filters produce the smooth, non-resonant movement the style uses, and its sub oscillator and noise oscillator supply the low-end and texture layers. Presets run inside the host on macOS and Windows wherever Serum runs, and the catalogue should confirm the seller's listing for the Serum version requirement and preset count. It suits melodic techno, melodic house, progressive house, and deep techno production. Confirm the publisher and preset count against your listing, since the name is descriptive and Serum melodic techno packs are widely published. #MelodicTechForSerum #SerumPresets #Serum #XferRecords #MelodicTechno #MelodicHouse #ProgressiveHouse #DeepTechno #PresetPack #Pads #Leads #Plucks #Arps #Basses #Subs #Anjuna #Afterlife #MIDIFiles #SoundDesign #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #VST #VST3 #AU #AAX #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro #Cubase
