Virtual Bassist MELLOW 2 is a phrase-based acoustic double bass plugin developed by UJAM. Built around high-resolution samples of a meticulously recorded vintage double bass, it delivers the rich, woody resonance and natural string noise of a physical acoustic bass. It is widely used across jazz, acoustic pop, neo-soul, hip-hop, cinematic scoring, and lo-fi productions.

The plugin features two primary performance modes: Player Mode (providing over 60 styles and 1,380 humanized performance patterns triggered via single keys) and Instrument Mode (allowing manual, note-by-note bassline sequencing). Version 2 additions include MIDI Drag-and-Drop directly onto DAW timelines, a built-in Finisher FX section for custom spatial and dynamic shaping, variable Room Ambience and Drive controls, and DAW Grid Syncing. MELLOW 2 operates in 64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows (10/11) and macOS (with native Apple Silicon and Intel support).
