McDSP FutzBox v7 is a low-fidelity distortion and noise generator designed to recreate the sonic characteristics of radios, cell phones, televisions, and other limited-bandwidth playback systems. Its Synthetic Impulse Models (SIMs) provide real-time scalable simulations of different audio environments, while additional processing includes filtering, EQ, distortion, downsampling, bit reduction, and a flexible noise generator. A hyper-sensitive gate can also create controlled signal dropouts and stuttering effects.

FutzBox v7 adds Tuned Intensity, Chop, and Wobble distortion controls, along with an updated high-definition interface and optimization for Apple Silicon and current Intel processors. It supports mono and stereo operation, double-precision processing, and zero-latency operation, making it useful for vocals, dialogue, drums, synths, bass, samples, and full mixes. The plugin is available for Windows and macOS in VST3, AU, and AAX formats, with the HD version also supporting AAX DSP.
