MC2000 Multi-Band Compressor Native v7 Upgrade from v6 is the discounted path to the current version of McDSP's high-end multi-band compressor, which is designed to emulate the sounds of vintage and modern compressors. The MC2000 is actually three plug-ins: MC202 (two-band compression), MC303 (three-band), and MC404 (four-band), giving complete control of multi-band dynamic compression. That tiered structure means a simple two-band setup for gentle control or a full four-band configuration for surgical work. Two controls define its character. Non-standard Knee and BITE controls allow unique and unprecedented articulation of compression characteristics — BITE in particular lets fast signal changes (transients) pass through the compressor while the overall compression amount stays the same, which is a genuinely useful behaviour for keeping life in a compressed signal. Additional features include compression curve modeling, adjustable crossover filters, multiple peak detection circuits, multi-compressor control linking, double precision processing, zero latency, and a collection of presets from award-winning mix engineers, with mono and stereo versions.
