Massive Expansion: Neon City Synthwave is presented by The Tone Foundry as their latest expansion pack for Native Instruments' Massive, and its inspirations are named: drawing inspiration from the luminaries of synthwave, the likes of Com Truise, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, and more. That lineage is specific — Com Truise's hazy, degraded analog textures, Carpenter Brut's aggressive distorted leads, and Perturbator's dark cinematic weight — and the pack's advertised purpose is to transport their listeners back to the neon-drenched ambience of the 1980s, casting them as the stars of a retro video game, with basses, leads, keys, pads, and FX covering the genre's requirements.

Its contents are documented and have grown through updates: the current listing ships 70x Presets for Native Instruments Massive, broken down as 13x Bass, 11x Synth, 11x Pad, 10x Lead, 9x Sequence, 5x Keys, 5x FX, 2x Bell, 2x Pluck, 1x Brass, and 1x Organ, plus 50x Bonus Wavs. The v1.1 update brought it to 60 presets, and v1.2 added 10 more for a total of 70 — an expansion pack that has been maintained rather than abandoned, which is a reasonable signal for buyers. An earlier product listing documented 51 NI Massive Presets across the same categories, so confirm which revision your catalogue references. A free teaser pack is available to add to your account. Note the compatibility point that applies to all Massive presets: Native Instruments Massive is required, and Massive presets are not compatible with NI Massive X, so buyers should confirm which instrument they own — Massive and Massive X are separate products with incompatible preset formats. It is available through Plugin Boutique, Loopmasters, and Producer Loops. It suits synthwave, retrowave, outrun, and 80s-influenced electronic production.
