Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb is a software recreation of the legendary Lexicon 224 digital reverb, developed by Universal Audio in collaboration with Lexicon. It uses the original hardware’s algorithms and control processor code, capturing its famously lush, dense reverb character. The plugin includes eight classic reverb programs and one chorus program, making it suitable for vocals, drums, guitars, synths, and other instruments. Its Plate and Concert programs are particularly useful for achieving vintage 1980s-style reverb and large, atmospheric spaces.

The plugin models the original unit's input transformers and early 12-bit AD/DA gain-stepping converters for added hardware character. Its controls include Bass/Mid split decay, Crossover, Treble Decay, Depth, Predelay, and Diffusion, while additional controls provide input/output gain and pitch shifting. A System Noise control can reproduce or remove the original hardware's characteristic noise and gain-stepping behavior. The plugin runs natively on Windows and macOS in VST3, AU, and AAX formats and can also run through UAD hardware.
