About Latin Percussion
Latin Percussion is a drum machine plugin developed by AudioThing and based on the Sound Master Latin Percussion, a rare analog drum machine from the 1980s. It features six classic percussion sounds: Bass, Low Conga, High Conga, Bongo, Claves, and Maracas. Each sound can be independently pitched, panned, and mixed, allowing producers to shape the individual elements of a rhythm rather than relying on a fixed preset mix. The plugin is particularly suited to Latin-inspired grooves, electronic music, house, and productions that benefit from vintage drum-machine character.
The plugin also includes Overdrive and Reverb for adding character and space to the sounds, along with a built-in sequencer for creating rhythmic patterns. Sequenced patterns can be dragged directly into a DAW as MIDI, while the preset system includes 20 factory presets, 9 factory patterns, and a randomizer for generating variations. Latin Percussion is available in VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP formats for 64-bit Windows, macOS, and Linux, with a Universal 2 Binary for Apple Silicon Macs. AudioThing also offers an AUv3 and standalone version for iOS and iPadOS.
