KONTOUR is described as an innovative phase modulation synth with expressive performance features that bring each note to life. It was conceived and created by Stephan Schmitt — founder and director of Nonlinear Labs, founder of Native Instruments, and the creator of REAKTOR — and represents the next step in his quest for an expressively playable, organic-sounding digital synthesizer. The engine's core consists of two sine oscillators with powerful capabilities of phase modulation, extensive wave-shaping options, and ring modulation. The instrument is unusually responsive: it is an ultra-responsive synth that reacts to even the slightest parameter adjustments, allowing stunningly organic textures from mallets to plucked and bowed strings to distorted, aggressive and noisy sounds. Two further components define its character — a comb filter and feedback routing — which, in combination with the FM signal source and a multi-mode filter, give the instrument a very complex and organic character, or let it drift into chaos. A Performance View condenses all its power into four macro controls for on-the-fly manipulation, with each macro mapped to several parameters for radical tweaking, and a Motion Recorder to automate custom modulations, timbre transitions, or long evolving soundscapes. It is a KOMPLETE Instrument with 378 sounds and a 25 MB download, requiring REAKTOR PLAYER or REAKTOR version 5.9.2 or higher. #Kontour #KONTOUR #NativeInstruments #Reaktor #PhaseModulation #Synth #Synthesizer #KOMPLETE #StephanSchmitt #SoundDesign #CombFilter #WaveShaping #Experimental #ElectronicMusic #VST #VST3 #AU #AAX #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro
