About JUPITER-8
The JUPITER-8 software instrument (available via Roland Cloud or Arturia Jup-8 V) is an official digital recreation of Roland's flagship 1981 hardware polysynth. Powered by advanced analog circuit modeling (such as Roland's ACB technology), it accurately captures the warm, expansive low-end and soaring upper frequencies of the original hardware. It is widely used across synthwave, pop, hip-hop, Afrobeats, synth-pop, and cinematic scoring.
The virtual architecture features 8-voice polyphony driven by 2 discrete VCOs per voice (supporting cross-modulation and sync), non-resonant HPF, switchable 2-pole/4-pole resonant low-pass VCF, dual ADSR envelopes, and an iconic arpeggiator. Modern software enhancements add MIDI Drag-and-Drop / Daw-syncing arpeggios, onboard reverb and chorus/delay effects, extended LFO ranges, and "Circuit Condition" modeling for aged vintage warmth. The plugin operates in 64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows (10/11) and macOS (with native Apple Silicon and Intel support).
