About Jun-6 V

Jun-6 V is Arturia's recreation of the Roland Juno-6, and the developer supplies the historical context: the first model, the Juno-6, was unveiled in 1982, at a time when synthesizers were expanding and competing for broader sound palettes, a higher voice count, more controls. This was just a year after the release of Roland's polysynth behemoth, the Jupiter-8. That framing is accurate and useful: the Juno-6 was deliberately simpler and more affordable than the Jupiter-8, and its single DCO per voice plus a famously lush chorus produced a sound that punched above its specification — which is why the Juno line remains a staple of synthwave, indie, and electronic production. Its filter architecture is the detail Arturia highlights: there are filters, and there are filters. Jun-6 V perfectly emulates the simple yet refined sculpting capabilities of its '80s ancestor. Go for bubbling low-pass warmth, dynamic high-pass tension, or a combination of the two — the dual high-pass and low-pass arrangement being a Juno signature, and the combination of the two produces the thin, filtered warmth that defines the Juno sound in a mix. The instrument also supports advanced modulation sections, including the mini modulation matrices, LFO 2, and Envelope Generator 2, where ENV 2 is a duplication of Envelope 1, with each segment having exactly the same characteristics and ranges. It includes the Juno's arpeggiator with the note that the Juno's arpeggiator offers the usual configuration options but lacks one of the nicest functions: a random mode. Basically, it was the same arpeggiator you could already find in the Jupiter-4/8 and the Roland 100M keyboard — useful context, and Arturia's version adds the modernised arpeggiator behaviour expected today. It is TAE Powered, working by accurately mimicking the characteristics of analog oscillators, filters, and soft clipping. It works in Standalone, VST, AAX, Audio Unit, and NKS (64-bit DAWs only), and comes in VST2, VST3, Audio Unit (AU), and AAX plug-in formats for use in all major DAW software such as Ableton Live, Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, Studio One, REAPER, Bitwig Studio, and many more. It suits synthwave, synth pop, indie, film score, and electronic production, and sits alongside Roland's own JUNO-60 Software Synthesizer in the same territory — where Roland's version adds JUNO CHORUS 1, JUNO CHORUS 2, JUNO CHORUS 1+2, and CE-1 modes, a delay section with Delay, Panning Delay, Chorus 1, Chorus 2, Flanger, and Delay + Chorus types, and PLUG-OUT compatibility with the SYSTEM-8 hardware. #Jun6V #Arturia #RolandJuno6 #Juno6 #Juno #AnalogSynth #PolySynth #DCO #VintageSynth #TAE #VCollection #AnalogModeling #Chorus #Arpeggiator #Synthwave #SynthPop #Indie #FilmScore #ElectronicMusic #MusicProduction #Standalone #VST2 #VST3 #AU #AAX #NKS #FLStudio #AbletonLive #LogicPro
