Roland JD-800 Software Synthesizer faithfully recreates the original 1991 JD-800 using its original waveform data combined with advanced modeling techniques. Its architecture features four independent synthesizer layers, each with flexible modulation, multimode resonant filtering, and time-variant amp and filter envelopes, making it particularly effective for creating large pads, evolving textures, digital leads, basses, and atmospheric sounds.

The software version expands on the original with increased polyphony, a resizable high-resolution interface, and a recreated two-stage effects section with seven effects including chorus, phaser, enhancer, distortion, spectrum, delay, and reverb. It includes 64 original JD-800 presets plus 64 new sounds, and is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats with native Apple Silicon support.
