Iron Pack 7 – Soprano is featuring the operatic soprano Nichole Dechaine, with chromatic Ah vowel sustains and live performance phrases, where the chromatic multisamples and phrases are based on our premier Voice Of Rapture: The Soprano solo vocal library, but the special pads, FX and ambient content are exclusive to this Iron Pack. That division is the thing a buyer needs to understand: the chromatic content — playable Ah vowel sustains across the range and a selection of live performance phrases — is drawn from the larger Voice of Rapture library, while the pads, effects, and ambiences exist only here. So the pack is partly an excerpt and partly original content, which is a useful characterisation and one the developer states plainly.

Its contents are documented with two slightly different figures in the sources, and both should be carried: Iron Pack 7 features 11 unique ambient pads and tonal drones created from our premier solo soprano library, featuring vocalist Nichole Dechaine. There are also two additional classic acoustic vocal presets, with playable chromatic Ah vowel sustains and a selection of live performance phrases. This 131 MB library for Kontakt and SFZ includes 51 standard pcm wav samples that can be used in any.wav-compatible environment — while a distributor listing gives the size as 371 MB with 91 stereo samples and a vocal/choral sound type. The catalogue should confirm which figure applies to the version being listed, since the discrepancy suggests a version difference, and either way the library is small by comparison with a full solo vocal library.

Its delivery and requirements are the practical detail: the library ships in Kontakt and SFZ formats, and the instrument sample sound files are encoded as standard 24-bit 48 kHz PCM wave files; they can be used in any audio software or hardware that supports common wav files — which means the raw material remains usable without Kontakt, a characteristic several Soundiron open-format libraries share. Requirements are OSX 10.9 or later for Mac users and Windows 7 or later for PC users, with Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later listed as the software requirement, and the title is a Kontakt Full Version release — so the free Kontakt Player will run it only in demo mode. It is priced at $9, frequently reduced to $5. It sits in the Iron Packs range, which the developer describes as lightweight instruments for Kontakt & SFZ, and whose other titles include Iron Pack 1 – Grand Piano, built from recordings cultivated from our award-winning Emotional Piano, offering a beautiful collection of piano sustains, atmospheric pads and mutated hammer drones, with instrument presets for both Kontakt and Decent Sampler — for $9, $5 on sale — and Iron Pack 4 – Children's Choir, using symphonic children's choir recordings from our Mercury Symphonic Boy's Choir library, with dynamic Ah and Oo vowels in alto-soprano range and 11 sound designed presets providing creative pads, synth leads and evolving ambiences at $5. It suits film, television, and game scoring, choral and sacred music, ambient production, and sound design, and the pack's value is as a low-cost entry into the Voice of Rapture material — a producer can audition the soprano and use the exclusive pads before committing to the larger library.
