The two techniques are physically different and produce different sounds: a finger rubbed around a glass rim excites the glass's fundamental continuously, producing a pure singing tone that swells and sustains as long as the motion continues; a mallet strike excites many partials briefly, producing a bell-like transient. Capturing both, and the resonances that occur between them, is what distinguishes this from a wine-glass sample pack.

It is published by Soundiron and sold as a perpetual licence, download delivery, one user. It suits film and television scoring, horror and suspense, ambient production, and sound design, and the library's value is its strangeness — a tuned wine glass ensemble produces pitches with an unstable, glassy quality that no synthesizer reproduces convincingly, which is why it appears repeatedly in suspense and horror scores.
