Igniter is described as a vehicle sound design software plugin, and its purpose is stated plainly: bring vehicles to life in seconds. From roaring engines to futuristic spaceships, craft authentic sounds without any hassle. The plugin's design principle is a departure from conventional workflow, as the developer's own audio designer explains: Igniter is unconventional and interactive. Instead of editing and manipulating pre-recorded audio, you can use granular sounds and manipulate them with pitch and modulations etc. to get a very believable sound quickly and easily. That granular, real-time approach matters because vehicle sound is fundamentally about continuous variation — an engine's pitch and character change with RPM, load, and acceleration, and editing individual recordings cannot easily produce a sound that responds musically to a performance. The instrument is automatable, so engine parameters can be driven by automation or MIDI, making it usable for games, where vehicle audio responds to player input, as well as in linear post. The plugin includes everything you would need to design high-quality vehicles for post-production, games, and more, covering engines, drones, ambiences, and SFX. Technical specifications are a 2.4 GHz CPU, 4 GB of RAM, MAC OS X 10.13 or above or Windows 10 64-bit or above, with Apple Silicon fully supported, formats of AAX Native, VST, and AU (64-bit only), a minimum sample rate of 44.1 kHz and maximum of 192 kHz, and an internet connection required at the time of activation. It is priced at $399, and an Igniter Full Tank expansion adds 75 GB of additional library content including onboard recordings, ramps and static rev bands, Foley sounds, skids, and slides for $600. It is also included with Krotos Studio MAX, alongside the developer's Dehumaniser 2. It suits film, television, and game audio, along with trailer and sound design work. #Igniter #Krotos #KrotosAudio #VehicleSound #SoundDesign #Granular #EngineSound #Drones #Ambiences #Foley #GameAudio #FilmScore #Television #PostProduction #Automation #IgniterFullTank #MusicProduction #AAX #VST #AU #ProTools #LogicPro #Cubase
