Hollywood Choirs Diamond is described as a male and female sampled choir and as a brand new, ground up, beautifully recorded choirs virtual instrument from Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix, the producers of Symphonic Choirs, the best-selling and most awarded virtual choir of all time. The producers' own account of its development is worth quoting: this is the third choir EastWest/Quantum Leap has recorded. We learnt a lot from the previous productions and Hollywood Choirs is the culmination of that experience. It is presented as a blockbuster female and male choir with unprecedented dynamics that will instantly transform your next project into a cinematic masterpiece. Its technical scope is documented. The Diamond Edition contains approximately 59 GB of 24-bit, 44.1 kHz samples across All Mixes, comprising 5 Microphone Mixes: Main, Close, Stage, Mid, and Surround, against the Gold Edition's 8 GB of 16-bit samples with the Main Microphone Mix and a ComposerCloud Gold X Edition's 16 GB of 16-bit samples with Main and Surround Mixes. It was recorded with a 13-mic setup (includes a Neumann Dummy Head) — the dummy head capture being unusual and used for surround sound and virtual reality — and you can mix any combination of mics for customized ambience. Sections comprise Alto (female), Soprano (female), Basses (male), and Tenors (male), with heavy-, light-, and non-vibrato articulations; slurred-legato vowels, and singers chromatically sampled with multiple dynamics. The standout feature is monitoring-software-adjacent: a built-in WordBuilder software lets you type in your own lyrics for the choir to sing, and there is a built-in WordBuilder 2 engine for micro-edits to phrases as needed, with 110 new editable pre-built WordBuilder phrases in English, German, and Latin that are exclusive to this product, and that can be quickly and effortlessly dropped into your mix or used as a starting point to create your own custom phrases. It is now included in OPUS, with individual downloads, custom keyswitches, and dozens of MIDI Tools and Mixer Effects.
