The Helios Type 69 Preamp and EQ Collection reproduces the Helios Type 69 console module, the preamp and equalizer that shaped the sound of Olympic Studios and, by extension, much of the classic British rock recorded there. The Typo 69's preamp is known for rich, musical coloration that flatters microphones, while its EQ has a distinctive character — prized for musical curves and a slightly aggressive edge that cuts through a dense arrangement. The collection captures both halves of the module, making it useful as a tracking front end for vocals, guitars, bass, and drums, and as a mixing EQ where that specific console color is wanted. Because the original preamps were fitted in different console configurations, the collection also covers the tonal variations associated with those deployments. It runs natively on macOS and Windows without UA hardware, or accelerated on Apollo interfaces and UAD-2 hardware, in VST3, AU, and AAX formats, and is managed through the free UA Connect application with an optional iLok USB key. #Helios #HeliosType69 #Type69 #Preamp #EQ #ConsoleEmulation #ChannelStrip #BritishSound #OlympicStudios #UniversalAudio #UAD #UADNative #AnalogModeling #Mixing #VST3 #AU #AAX #ProTools #LogicPro #AbletonLive #Cubase
