SR-88 is an analog drum machine plugin developed by AudioThing, based on the rare Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88 from the 1980s. The plugin recreates the character of the original machine using five classic analog drum sounds: Kick, Snare, Hi Hat 1, Hi Hat 2, and Cymbal. Each sound can be independently pitched, panned, and mixed, making the instrument useful for creating vintage electronic drum patterns, retro productions, synthwave, electro, techno, and other styles that benefit from distinctive analog drum-machine textures.

SR-88 combines its vintage drum sounds with modern sound-shaping and sequencing features. The individual sounds can be processed through a Zero Delay Feedback low-pass filter, while integrated Overdrive, Compressor, and Reverb effects provide additional control over tone, dynamics, saturation, and ambience. Its built-in sequencer allows users to create rhythmic patterns and drag MIDI patterns directly into a DAW, while the preset system includes a randomizer for quickly generating variations. The plugin includes 15 factory presets and 15 factory patterns. SR-88 is available in VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP formats for 64-bit Windows, macOS, and Linux, with the macOS version supporting Apple Silicon through a Universal 2 binary. An AUv3 and standalone version is also available for iOS and iPadOS.
