Lunacy Grains is a real-time granular processing effect designed to transform incoming audio into shimmering particle clouds, glitchy percussive textures, and rhythmic soundscapes. Its granular engine provides synchronized controls for grain rate, size, envelope shape, pitch, and arpeggiation, allowing audio to be fragmented and rearranged into evolving textures while retaining real-time performance control. A visualizer provides feedback on the resulting grain cloud.

Grains also includes controlled randomization for spray, stereo width, reverse playback, and detuning, along with an integrated Cloud Delay that feeds processed audio back into the granular engine to create cascading textures. The plugin includes 50 presets and can also be used inside Lunacy BEAM, where multiple Grains instances can be combined in serial or parallel configurations. It runs natively on Windows and macOS and is available in VST, AU, and AAX formats.
