FabFilter Pro-L 2 is a professional true-peak limiter designed for transparent loudness maximization and detailed dynamics control in mixing and mastering. It provides eight limiting algorithms—including Transparent, Punchy, Dynamic, Allround, Aggressive, Modern, Bus, and Safe—each offering a different balance of transparency, punch, loudness, and coloration. Adjustable lookahead, attack, release, and independent transient/release channel linking provide further control over the limiting response.

Pro-L 2 features true-peak limiting, up to 32x linear-phase oversampling, EBU R128/ITU-R BS.1770-4 loudness metering, dithering with noise shaping, external sidechain triggering, and Dolby Atmos surround support up to 9.1.6. Its real-time display provides detailed input, output, gain-reduction, loudness, and true-peak information, making it suitable for mastering, mix buses, individual tracks, stem mastering, and loudness-critical delivery. It is available in VST, VST3, CLAP, AU, AAX Native, and AudioSuite formats on Windows and macOS.
