Evolve Nest Acoustics is the first collaboration release in our Evolve series, created with sound designer and music maker Nest Acoustics. It combines foley, nature, and field recordings with analogue synthesis, forming a modern "botanica" sound palette to work with. That combination is what gives the instrument its character: rather than clean synthetic tones, it works from recorded organic material — leaves, water, wood, small natural mechanisms — layered with synthesized elements so that the result feels alive and unsettled rather than static.

Under the hood, Evolve Nest Acoustics contains four distinct sound layers that can be blended in real-time with the Evolve XY Pad, intuitive modulation capabilities, and four organic-inspired macro effects — Holo, Crust, Breeze, and Erode. Each of the quad-layer engine's slots can house either a sample-based instrument from a selection of 250 sources, or a synth oscillator, and the instrument provides 250 genre-spanning presets along with dual filters and a rearrangeable three-slot effects chain. Modulation is provided by 12 sources in total, including six envelopes (ADSR with delay and hold), two LFOs with retriggering and offset parameters, velocity and key-tracking with adjustable curves, and the X and Y positions of the instrument's X-Y pad control. It runs as VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone on macOS 10.15 or higher (Intel and native Apple Silicon) and Windows 7 or higher, 64-bit only, and is tested in Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, and Reason. A Lite edition and a Crossgrade from any full Evolve product are also available. It suits ambient, cinematic, experimental electronic, and sound design work.
