Evolve Dark Matter Upgrade from Evolve Dark Matter Lite is the route for existing Lite owners to the complete instrument. Both editions are sample-based synthesizers designed to capture the sonic essence of Dark Matter, aimed at dark drum and bass, atmospheric techno, and heavier electronic styles, and both share the series' quad-engine architecture where you blend four layers of samples or synths using the powerful quad-engine, morph sounds in real time with the expressive XY Pad, get instant creative sparks with one-click randomisation, and shape and polish your sound with physics-inspired macro effects.

The difference between editions is library depth. Evolve Dark Matter Lite provides 125 Sound Sources across Acoustic, Bass, Chords, FX, Multisamples, Synths, Textures, and Vocals categories, 4 Sound Sources (A, B, C, D) slots, Sample and Synth OSC engines, an XY Pad with Sounds and FX modes, randomise across Sounds, Parameters, and Effects, and the 4 Macros: Quanta, Entropy, Orbit, Infinite — with 75 genre-spanning presets. The full version raises this to 250 sound sources, 250 presets, and user sample import. Eligibility requires ownership of Evolve Dark Matter Lite, and the upgrade is tied to that licence — confirm terms with your supplier. A separate Crossgrade from any Evolve product exists for owners of any full Evolve title. Both editions run as VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone on macOS 10.15 or higher (Intel and native Apple Silicon) and Windows 7 or higher, 64-bit only, with a recommended buffer size of 512 samples or higher, tested in Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, and Reason.
