Evolve Dark Matter Lite is the sound of dark matter — the new sample-based synthesizer for dark electronic production, capturing the sonic essence of dark matter. The developer notes that Evolve Dark Matter comes in two editions, Lite and Full, both sold exclusively through Plugin Boutique. The split lets producers start at a lower tier and move up, with the Full version carrying the complete preset and feature set — making the Lite edition a genuinely playable instrument rather than a demo, with an Upgrade from Evolve Dark Matter Lite path to the full version.

The Lite engine retains the series architecture: a powerful quad-engine, where you blend four layers of samples or synths, morph sounds in real time with the expressive XY Pad, get instant creative sparks with one-click randomisation, and shape and polish your sound with physics-inspired macro effects. Its content comprises 125 Sound Sources across Acoustic, Bass, Chords, FX, Multisamples, Synths, Textures, and Vocals categories, 4 Sound Sources (A, B, C, D), Sample and Synth OSC engines, an XY Pad with Sounds and FX modes, randomise across Sounds, Parameters, and Effects, and 4 Macros: Quanta, Entropy, Orbit, Infinite, alongside 75 genre-spanning presets. The full version raises this to 250 sound sources, 250 presets, and adds user sample import. It runs as VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone on macOS 10.15 or higher (Intel and native Apple Silicon) and Windows 7 or higher, 64-bit only, with a recommended buffer size of 512 samples or higher, tested in Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, and Reason. It suits dark drum and bass, atmospheric techno, and heavier electronic styles.
